Survivor Empowerment Program

You made it out! NOW, it’s time to move forward.

This is an eight-week guided journey to help survivors rebuild stability, confidence and purpose after abuse.

Leaving an abusive situation takes courage, but rebuilding your life afterward takes commitment.
The Survivor Empowerment Program is an 8-week experience for women ready to heal, grow, and re-establish their independence.

This isn’t crisis response — it’s life after survival. Whether you’re finding employment, securing housing, or simply redefining who you are, BuildHER walks beside you every step of the way.

What to Expect

A Safe Space to Heal and Grow

Each week covers real-life rebuilding skills — not theory.
Topics include:

  • Setting boundaries and rebuilding confidence
  • Career readiness & financial planning
  • Accessing housing and transportation resources
  • Emotional wellness & self-leadership
  • Creating your personal stability plan

Your Advocate, Your Ally

Every participant is matched with a trained peer advocate for one-on-one guidance throughout the program. Your advocate helps you stay accountable, celebrate progress, and connect with community partners who can open new doors.

Community That Understands

Healing happens in community. Join our monthly Peer Support Group (RRB) to share victories, gain perspective, and connect with women who’ve walked the same road.
You’ll never have to explain your story twice — we already understand.

Program Details

Length

The sessions are 8 weeks long. We meet once a week virtually.

Program Format

The classes are held virtually in a group setting. You will be with others that have survived some form of domestic abuse. Topics will include setting boundaries, goal setting, confidence building, etc.

Commitment

You are expected to attend each session and engage in discussions. We understand and are respectful of shyness; however, we believe participation shows your desire to move forward in your own healing.

Graduation & Beyond

We love celebrating victories! We will host a special “graduation” event at the end of each 8-week session. After graduation you will be connected to our outreach team. This is where you will have an opportunity to play it forward. Maybe you will want to become an advocate. Maybe you will want to volunteer. Maybe you will want to be part of our leadership team. The outreach team will assist you in these opportunities.

Mini-Workshops

We believe the more you learn the easier it is to re-establish yourself. When the program is not in session, BuildHER host practical Mini-Workshops open to the community on:

  • Confidence
  • Finances
  • Healthy Relationships
  • Self-Care
  • Self-Prioritizing
  • Boundaries
  • Navigating the Holidays

These short sessions keep momentum strong and invite new participants to connect before the next 8-week cycle.
