BuildHER focuses on long-term rebuilding after immediate safety needs have been addressed. Wherever you are in your journey, we’ll help you identify the right next step.
How BuildHER Supports You
You made it out! NOW, it’s time to move forward.
BuildHER provides structured support for survivors who are out of immediate crisis and ready to focus on rebuilding stability and independence. After completing an intake and stabilization screening, our team works with you to identify the right next step based on your needs and readiness.
For some participants, this may include an invitation to join Building Forward, BuildHER’s guided survivor rebuilding program focused on restoring confidence, independence, and long-term life stability.
This support pathway is best suited for survivors who are safe, have stable housing, and are ready to commit to a rebuilding journey.
Everyone’s path to recovery looks different. After your intake, BuildHER works with you to determine the right next step — whether that’s community resources, one-on-one support, or participation in Building Forward when you’re ready.
What to Expect After You Reach Out
Reaching out is a big step. Here’s how BuildHER supports you as you begin rebuilding stability, confidence, and independence.
A Safe, Judgment-Free Conversation
Your journey begins with a supportive intake conversation where you can share your goals, needs, and current situation at your own pace — without pressure or judgment.
Identifying Immediate Needs
Together, we look at areas like housing stability, employment, transportation, and emotional support to understand what will help you feel safer and more secure.
Personalized Support Planning
BuildHER works with you to outline practical next steps and connect you with community resources when additional support is needed.
One-on-One Guidance
You may be matched with a trained peer advocate who offers encouragement, accountability, and help navigating challenges along the way.
Readiness for Building Forward
When you’re stable and ready, you may be invited to participate in Building Forward, our structured rebuilding program focused on long-term confidence, independence, and life planning.
Your Advocate, Your Ally
Support looks different for everyone. During your early support journey, you may be connected with a trained peer advocate who provides encouragement, accountability, and help navigating next steps.
Your advocate is someone who listens without judgment, celebrates progress, and helps you stay focused on your goals. As your needs evolve, your advocate can also help connect you with community partners and additional resources.
Advocacy support may continue throughout your rebuilding journey, including during participation in Building Forward when appropriate.
Community That Understands
Healing happens in connection. As you move forward in your rebuilding journey, BuildHER offers opportunities to connect with other survivors who understand what it means to start over.
Through small group experiences, workshops, and community gatherings, you’ll build confidence, share perspectives, and realize you’re not alone in this next chapter.
There is strength in shared experience and powerful growth in rebuilding together.
How Support May Continue
Support with BuildHER doesn’t stop at the first conversation. As your stability grows, your support plan may include additional guidance, skill-building, and structured opportunities to strengthen your independence.
Areas of focus may include:
• Building confidence and setting healthy boundaries
• Financial literacy and planning
• Employment and education goals
• Strengthening healthy relationships
• Stress management and emotional wellness
• Creating a long-term stability plan
Each step is personalized, based on your readiness and goals.
Workshops & Skill-Building Opportunities
BuildHER offers practical workshops and small group learning experiences designed to support long-term rebuilding. Topics may include confidence building, financial skills, stress management, relationship health, and navigating life transitions.
These opportunities help participants continue growing while staying connected to a supportive community.
